Client:
Primary Care Development Corporation (PCDC) and CSH (Corporation for Supportive Housing).
Need:
To assess the need for Integrated Healthcare and Supportive Housing.
Description:
In May 2013, FUND Consulting completed a market assessment for PCDC and CSH to assess whether these is a market for the financing of supportive housing and healthcare projects in Arizona, California, Connecticut, and Oregon. The project began with a kick-off call with the PCDC CSH team and the FUND Consulting project team to gain a preliminary understanding of the goals for the project. Using knowledge collected from this discussion, FUND Consulting composed a set of key research questions to guide the project, which were approved by the PCDC CSH team. Initial interviews were conducted by the PCDC CSH team. FUND Consulting conducted additional follow-up interviews to gain further insight into integrated health/housing models. In addition, FUND Consulting conducted a brief survey of key informants to gain additional insight on findings from the key informant interviews. Finally, the consulting team also collected and analyzed a vast amount of secondary data pertaining to the four identified states. Secondary data collected and analyzed provided information on the economic distress, demand, and competition in each state. Data on all three parameters was then put together to analyze the potential of each market. The final report was completed in July 2013 and included an analysis of all the data collected and recommendations and strategies for implementing an Integrated Housing and Healthcare financing product.
