As a Senior Consultant, Emily is responsible for managing a variety of projects including government funding applications, market studies, CDFI certification, and reporting and compliance assistance. Her project work includes preparation and implementation of project plans, development of research tools, research analysis, and production and presentation of customized reports.
Emily brings five years of CDFI experience to her work at FUND Consulting, having worked at several Chicago-based CDFIs. Immediately prior to joining FUND Consulting, Emily was the Director of Impact at National Community Investment Fund (NCIF), a nonprofit private equity fund that specializes in supporting mission-oriented banks, including CDFI banks, through research and investments. There Emily managed NCIF’s research efforts and implemented NCIF’s suite of Social Performance Metrics, including designing surveys, soliciting data, and conducting analysis. Emily also supported NCIF’s investment work by analyzing potential New Market Tax Credit (NMTC) projects, closing several NMTC deals, and assisting in CDFI Funding applications.
Emily previously worked as a Portfolio Associate at Chicago Community Loan Fund, a Chicago focused CDFI loan fund where she helped to manage a portfolio of 130+ loans and enhanced the existing social impact tracking systems from initial collection method to data management. She also worked at IFF, a Midwest CDFI loan fund, as a Research Associate.
Emily holds a Masters of Urban Planning and Policy from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a BA in Sociology from Grinnell College. She is also board member for Ultimate Chicago and serves on the Garden Committee at Bickerdike Redevelopment Corporation.
